Medical Care For Queen
Hello,

I am Heather, Queen's caretaker and human. Queen and I need your help. Just over one week ago Queen began to lose her balance and ability to walk and use the catbox normally. Queen was examined at the SPCA Tampa Bay Veterinary Center and Pet Hospital in St. Petersburg FL one week ago. We did a comprehensive blood panel, urinalysis, blood pressure, and eye pressure check. Along with the office visit and a prescription for gabapentin to treat pain and anxiety, this visit cost $500.

Unfortunately, this first line of disease differentiation and associated diagnostic lab tests did not give us an explanation for her symptoms of ataxia. Her blood work and urinalysis showed a healthy cat with normal functioning organ systems. Blood pressure was normal and the physical exam by the veterinarian determined blood flow to her hind legs is normal.

Queen is still weak and sometimes cannot stand. Using the catbox is challenging for her and I have had to place pee pads on the floor for her to urinate on. I have also replaced the catbox with a new one that is easier for her to access. She is eating normally and is spending most of her time on the bed resting. I have been spending a lot of time with her to make sure she is comfortable. She has been enjoying our naps together and purrs loudly when I groom her.

It is breaking my heart to see her struggle when she gets up to walk to either her food or bathroom.

The next line of treatment and diagnostics include x-rays and three individual tests for infectious disease pathogens that could be present in her spinal fluid and that was not detected in her blood. It has also been recommended for her to be seen by a veterinarian neurologist for an MRI and spinal tap.

I do not have the means to pay for this next line of treatment and I need help. This is why I am reaching out to my community and beyond. I have set this fundraising goal to meet the financial need to cover follow up visit, xrays, and the three tests for infectious pathogens. Please help me get Queen the medical care she needs as soon as possible. It is important to consider time as a factor of importance for getting her care.

I am grateful for any amount even small that anyone can contribute. It will all help as a collective donation. Ideally, if I can get 75 donations of $20 the goal of $1500 will be met. Please help me help Queen!

Please share this fundraiser to as many people as possible so that Queen can get her care.

Thank you,
Heather Queen's Human
