Medical care for Pixie

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Jessica and I just rescued this sweet angel from the Inland Valley Humane Society. I’m raising funds to pay for her medical care being that we had to sign a medical waiver in order to adopt her due to her condition. She has clearly been extremely neglected and abused. She is missing a lot of fur and is full of scabs. Her skin is red and irritated, and she is uncomfortable. No animal should ever have to live like this.

My mother passed away 3 weeks ago from cancer. It’s been the worst 3 weeks of my life. I’ve been extremely depressed. I randomly had a dream about a bulldog on March 15th but didn’t think anything of it. Now I know it was a sign. On March 18th, I happened to go onto Tiktok and saw a video from the Inland Valley Humane Society showing how overcrowded they are and how all animal adoption fees are waived. I knew that it might upset me, but I decided to go onto their website and see what fur babies were available. I was scrolling and this girl immediately caught my eye. I couldn’t believe that someone could be so cruel and allow her to get to this point. I texted a picture to my husband and we decided to adopt her. Only problem is she wasn’t available yet. We decided to go visit her anyway. Zack, one of the shelter employees, was so kind and talked to us about her. He said that no one had inquired about her. So we went home and decided to go back to try to get her on her available date. However the next day her available date was gone so I panicked and called. I called for 3 days in a row checking in and letting them know how serious I was about adopting her. The shelter finally called me today and told me I could adopt her. She was spayed this morning and will have some surgeries to come. She needs her cherry eye fixed, a nasal widening, a trachea surgery, and ongoing care to get her skin back to normal. We have a long road ahead of us, but I’m so thankful she will get the love and care she deserves. I am doing this in honor of my mom. She was an amazing teacher who helped kids in need and I want to continue her legacy by helping animals in need. I’ve rescued many animals, but I know this one will be the most rewarding. I can’t wait to share her progress with you all. My husband and I have decided to name her Pixie. It was my mom’s nickname given to her by my grandfather. I know that I can’t get my mom back, but I hope that her memory will live on through my new fur baby.

Please, if you can please help and donate to her care, we would all greatly appreciate it. Whatever I have left over will be given as a donation to the Inland Valley Humane Society so they can continue to save the lives of animals. Also, if you can open your hearts and homes to an animal in need, there are so many amazing dogs in shelters across the country. They deserve all the love and happiness in the world and you could be the one who changes their life forever. Please adopt, don’t shop.

Love to you all! ❤️
