Hello everyone, my name is Kewai and I’m in desperate need of your help.
If you know my Auntie Yolly, she is someone who is fiercely independent, strong-willed, and reliable to the end. She won’t beat around the bush when it comes to her opinions, and once you are part of her circle, she’ll always stand by you. She has always tried her best to take care of those around her, especially when it came to me and my younger siblings. I can’t thank her enough for helping to raise us, going as far as to putting her own life on pause so that she could care for us to the best of her abilities.
Some of you may be aware that my Auntie Yolly has occasional bouts of dizziness, so when she was feeling dizziness and nausea, she felt that this would resolve itself as usual. Instead, she had unknowingly been suffering a series of strokes over the course of a few weeks, with her most recent one being the night of October 12th. That morning, she had called me to drive her to the ER as she could not drive due to the intensity of her dizziness and nausea. She was admitted and eventually moved to the MICU at Santa Clara Valley Medical Hospital after her most recent stroke. At this time, we are unsure when she will return home to us.
That being said, life will not kindly pause for us and everything has a price tag. Without insurance, my family and I will be bearing the brunt of the oncoming medical bills as well as the cost of living while Auntie Yolly cannot return to work. I’m reaching out now in her stead as many have reached out to Auntie Yolly in their time of need. Anything helps, even if it is just sharing my auntie’s story. Thank you for your generosity and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
