Medical care for Marshal the Ferret
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Sydney and I currently own two very playful and mischievous ferrets who I love with my whole entire being. Unfortunately, my one boy, Marshal, had suddenly started to not act himself. We’ve taken him to the vet already with basic blood work and X-rays and everything was fine…..until it wasn’t a month later.
On 7/20/2024, he was diagnosed with Insulinoma after he had a vomiting episode.
Today (09-05-2024), he was dropped off to get some more testing done to see how his bloodwork is now and do some ultrasounds and the sort to see how things are doing.
Bloodwork was relatively normal, however his proteins and white blood count was just a little elevated, meaning he has an infection somewhere.
They also found a small pocket of fluid and his one lymph node is still swollen.
But they said there’s a possibility he has sepsis going on and they recommended we do exploratory surgery to see where it’s coming from, flush and clean out the infection, and see if his pancreas and kidney are looking ok and to remove anything that might be going on.
And this needs to be done ASAP, so spreading this around will honestly help me.
But please help me save my boy. I’m absolutely devastated by this.
