Meet Lola May. Her scars and injuries tell a story of a very sad past. She was found abandoned on an apartment patio two weeks ago. When she got to the shelter she wouldn't stand and barely lifted her head. After a quick exam, the vet found that the majority of her teeth had been knocked out leaving exposed nerves and fragments of teeth. She had extreme swelling to her face with a cauliflower ear that could have only been caused by blunt force trauma to her head. She also has a limp, which we now know was caused by either a broken or fractured wrist. If this wasn't bad enough, she has two detached retinas and has lost all vision in one of her eyes (also suspected to have been caused by trauma to her face and head). Her scars, including one from what looks to have been a wire around her neck, are thankfully healing up nicely. She has a fear of men, water, and steel water bowls. Knowing all of this, it's a miracle that she doesn't have any aggression toward dogs, cats, food, or anything. Her face may look aged, but the vet believes she is only around 3 years old.

I have never asked for funds before, but I am making it my mission to give Lola May the loving, long and comfortable life she so deserves. I also want her story to show people the love and compassion dogs have even after humans have failed them. This sweet baby wants nothing but to be loved.
