Duchess the Blue Nose Pit Bull's Medical Care

JR and Denise’s sweet girl Duchess is a cuddly, loving, goofy 7-year-old blue nose pit bull. She loves to give big kisses to her parents and friends and is scared of loud noises like fireworks on the 4th of July. Her BFF next door is a pup named Ziggy. Duchess loves life and is an integral part of JR and Denise's family. Unfortunately, Duchess has developed a bacterial infection that has been unresponsive to antibiotic medical treatment and her veterinary care has deemed that invasive and costly testing, treatment, and possibly bladder surgery are necessary.

Sadly, Denise and JR do not have the resources to cover Duchess's procedures at this time. This has been a rough winter for all of them; Denise is recovering from a costly hip replacement revision surgery this past November and JR is currently the sole breadwinner, working long hours. Home recovering from surgery, Denise has been forced to bear witness to Duchess's struggles day in and day out. While she is primarily supposed to be resting, she still rallies to take Duchess outside for her daily walks. Unfortunately, with Duchess's condition, they rarely make it out of the apartment without an accident, which is difficult for Denise to clean up due to her current limited mobility.
