Medical Care for Diego

Hi, my name is Stephanie I have a orange tabby name Diego, here is his story.

In 2020 I made the biggest decision that I was going to adopt a pet for the first time. I went to his foster home and when I saw him I fell in love with him instantly. Diego was born with condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. Cerebellar hypoplasia is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum—the part of the brain that coordinates movement—is smaller than usual or not completely developed. Which means Diego can not walk at all. He is the perfect lab kitty and is the most sweetest kitty ever. He loves to play and cuddle everyone and anyone who meets him.

Recently Diego had been constipated for a couple of days. I gave him miralax and waited to see if he had a bowel movement (pooped). But only black liquid would come out of him I got really concern and took him to emergency. I thought they would only give me medication to help with his constiapation. Instead Diego has been diagnosed with megacolon. Which means his colon is dilated, and stretch. The only way to remove his hard stool from his colon is by getting treatment. They did X rays on him and his whole belly is backed up with stool. The doctor gave me a choice to start treatment or to put him down. And I don’t have the heart to do it because his blood work came back normal. I can’t kill Diego just because he is constipated.

Any donation will help Diego get his treatment and for him to go back home. Diego would really appreciate it and I would too ❤️
