Meet Brooks, Suffield Animal Control’s newest and sweetest family member!! He was found tied to a tree and left to die overnight in a snow storm. He had many signs of neglect, but it wasn’t until we brought him to the vet that we found out how much medical care he really needed. Brooks was completely shaved due to his severely matted hair, he had a large tumor growing on his back leg along with cuts on his back legs caused from the leash being tangled around cutting off the circulation, a severe ear infection, teeth that are infected and needing extraction. We are having his tumor removed and tested for cancer asap.
Unfortunately, the Suffield Dog Pound is given a small budget for any medical needs that arise throughout the year for the dogs at the pound.
Myself and the other volunteers that help take care of the dogs on a daily basis decided it’s time to ask the public for help! If Brooks’ story struck a chord with you, any donation amount will help pay off the medical bills for his recovery! Every cent of the donations that are left over (after making sure Brooks gets a clean bill of health) will be put towards any future dogs who come to us and need medical attention.
As a volunteer to the Suffield Dog pound for the past 3 years, our number one priority is making sure these dogs understand that they are loved and they can trust humans. We will do everything in our power to make sure we find the most PERFECT loving FOREVER home for them. We will not stop fighting for Justice for these animals who are left behind like they are worthless.
Brooks will be available for adoption once he is cleared by the Vet. Please follow the Suffield Animal Control Facebook Page for updates.
Thank you in advance for any donations.
