Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues:
We have launched this GoFundMe to help support some of the medical expenses of our relative Aubrey Armstrong. On Tuesday, November 14, 2023 Aubrey was doing his job of delivering a vehicle from Michigan to California. He has worked as an independent contractor, delivering vehicles across the USA and western Canada for the past three years but jobs were inconsistent. On that fateful morning, shortly after he collected the vehicle, Aubrey began to experience dizziness and loss of sight. Thankfully, he had the presence of mind to call to his dispatcher, who immediately called 911. Aubrey suffered an acute stroke and over the next few days, he had seizures. Because of the damage sustained to his brain, Aubrey needs rehabilitation treatment to address cognitive, physical and occupational deficits. His doctor has prohibited him from driving and working for the next year.
Like many Americans Aubrey is uninsured. He is a veteran of the US Navy Reserves where he served eight years. However, he did not serve 24 continuous months of active duty or was not deployed so his minimal benefits do not include medical or financial assistance. Since Aubrey suffered the stroke, many people have reached out to ask how they can offer support. This GoFundMe seeks to provide a way in which to do so.
We thank you for your support and for the love and concern already expressed.
