Heidi Allen is an extremely loyal person. She is a daughter, a sister, a mother, and a friend of many. On Tuesday, January 8th, 2019, she was sleeping at the house of some friends. She was woken up by these people fighting, in which one person stabbed the other several times in the chest and back. She called 911 three times, twice from the land-line at the house, and once from her cellphone. We don't know why the calls from the land-line were dropped, but she connected on her cellphone. For some reason the emergency responders went to her home address, which was registered to her cellphone. They did not come to the house she was physically at. She had been drinking and did not want to drive but her friend was bleeding out in front of her. She felt like she had no choice but to try to get her friend to the hospital. They almost made it. A car came into her lane and she swerved to avoid it. In doing so, she over corrected and went off the road. She hit a tree and the car rolled several times, landing with the drivers side of the car on the ground. Both the stabbed person and the stabber were thrown from the car. The emergency responders had to use the Jaws of Life to get Heidi out of the car.
SHE WILL LIVE!!! However, her skull was fractured in two places. Her C1 vertebrae was fractured, which means she has a broken neck. Her nose was broken. She had a brain bleed, which has subsequently cleared up. Her spleen was injured. Her right arm is a mess. She is going to have two surgeries on it. Her elbow is shattered and her humerus is broken down the length of it.
She is going to be in the cervical collar you see in the picture for at least three months while her neck heals. There will be intense physical therapy after the surgery. She is looking at several months of healing and will not be able to work.
If you can, please help her out with the living and medical costs she will have to take care of for the next several months.
