Ryan Sexton is an 8th grade student at Chalybeate School in Walnut, Mississippi. After multiple visits to figure out the cause of his pain and sickness, doctors found a tumor the size of an egg behind his nose. At Lebonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis this week, after many tests and a biopsy, Ryan was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. He was then sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to begin treatment.

Ryan is only 16 years old, but he has handled this devastating news of cancer with a strength that most adults could not. He faces many trials in the upcoming days, and this will be a financial burden on his family as they lose time from work and home to see Ryan through this journey.
