I really hate having to do this again. In May, I had my second knee replacement. The photo is of me in recovery after the surgery, still anesthetized from the waist down, happy to have survived. I still have around $1,000 in hospital bills I haven’t been able to pay. I’m currently on a program to pay off my credit cards over 4 years, which means I have no credit. The only loans I can get are payday-type loans with loan shark interest.
The thing that I don’t know if I can recover from: I changed insurance companies to save $50 a month, and they want me to get all the trees touching my roof trimmed or my cancellation is effective in mid-September. At which point my mortgage company will force insurance with a super high rate, and they (or any other insurance) may do the same thing.
I got an estimate on the work that I think is fair. It’s $2,100.00 for a two-day job.
My deadline to get it scheduled is as soon as possible. Seems like a lot of people in the business are super busy because the insurance companies are hitting a lot of people with this.
So right there is the $3,000. I’ve had a few friends give me $1,550. The problem is I also have both income and property taxes due in the next few months, and a $1,000 personal loan I need to pay back. Which is approximately $4,000. I hope to raise some of that through savings and budgeting, some through eBay sales, and some through music. That’s why I included the music video, to let people know about my music (it was a private video I made for a friend who has since passed on, and I want other people to see it).
I haven’t left the house much except for appointments since I got back from medical rehab in June, and I’m hoping my legs will improve enough that I can walk to the post office with eBay packages soon. It’s about 3 blocks away.
