Medical bills support for Joe Maneen

Donation protected

My childhood friend, Joe Maneen, a retired Master Sergeant in the air force  is starting his journey to beat cancer for a second time; and he WILL!

The sarcoma he had in his arm, metastasized in both of his lungs. The right lung is still deflated as the largest tumor is completely obstructing his airway into the lung. Secondary cancer is far more aggressive and much higher risk, so this is way trickier than the arm. He is considered Stage 4, but the Doctor has some things up her sleeve. She is pulling in a radiation oncologgist as well as a cardio thoracic surgeon to join Joe's team. They will start with radiation to cauterize the bleeding, and add chemo, drug trials, and possibly lung removal surger (if it comes to that, but Dr. said we aren't there yet!) A "tumor board" of specialists is convening at Moffitt to determine next steps.

Joe feels "good" right now and handled radiation well last time. He worked through the entire 7 weeks of treatment. They are staying positive and focusing on family time and quality of life, but plan to keep working to have some normalcy. The Moffitt Center is known for helping families keep a balance and it was mentioned several times during their call yesterday. Asking for more prayers, as they are at the beginning of a hard battle.

The funds raised here will help the medical costs and travel expenses since the family (wife and 2 girls ages 8 and 10) will be split between the Panhandle and Tampa.
