On Wednesday April 27th our beloved co-worker, friend and senior community staff member, Kyle was heading home after working in the kitchen of Northaven Senior living when police received multiple 911 calls reporting a person firing a gun on 8th Ave NE and NE Northgate Way at 7:40 p.m. Shortly after, the victim, a 25-year-old man, called 911 and said he had been shot during an attempted carjacking. He had two gunshot wounds, one in his arm and one in his buttock, with multiple broken bones from the bullets and was treated by officers and fire medics before being taken to Harborview Medical Center. Kyle is still in the hospital recovering. Our Northaven community has been shaken to the core. It is hard for our residents and staff to fathom something happening to such a wonderful, kind, gentle, and caring person such as he. We as a community will rallying around him in the coming weeks. We will be creating a meal train and taken donations. We know our staff and residents will go above and beyond to care for kyle but our senior Living community is low income so our donations won't be able to fully cover his medical expenses and recovery. So all outside donations would be greatly appreciated in helping to assist with his Uncovered medical expenses.
