My dear friend Jillian has been spending her days in the hospital by her daughter Tasia's bedside. This is a situation she's found herself in countless times before. In fact, this is the 4th time in just the past year. But this time is different. This time, the doctors are saying there's nothing else they can do. They are moving towards "comfort care". Tasia will likely be coming home in the next few days, but not because she's well. I think most of you understand where I'm going with this.
As such, Jillian has obviously had to put work completely on hold and that will remain true for weeks, possibly months to come. Jillian is a real estate agent and on top of the very slow market we've been in for the past year, this means she is a self-employed, independent contractor with no paid leave of any kind. Jillian did not ask me set up this request. I didn't even ask her permission. Whenever anyone says, what can I do to help, she responds simply with, please pray for Tasia. On top of facing the unfathomable.. preparing to say goodbye to her beloved daughter, she is carrying a tremendous financial burden from all the medical bills and inability to earn an income. What I want for her in this moment is to be able to focus entirely on Tasia and to let go of worry about how she's going to pay her bills or how quickly she will be able to get back to a career that requires us to be "on" and really hustle.
First and foremost, please pray for Tasia and her family. Pray for peace that passes understanding. Pray for comfort and healing. Pray that they would feel God's overwhelming presence. And if you feel led and are able, please send a little something her way to ease her burden. There is power in numbers. If many contribute just a little, it can quickly become significant. You don't have to be able to send $100 or even $50 to make it matter. Anything you are able to give will mean so much. And I believe God will multiply it and ensure that she is provided for! Thank you all for your support and prayers.
