Please help us raise money for medical fees related to injuries Marisol Leticia sustained by FWPD during their attack on the citizens of Fort Wayne. Marisol, a deaf protester, peacefully protested on the sidewalk and was met with tear gas canisters exploding on her thigh and buttocks causing two large hematomas with severe burns at the center and immediately hit with 12 rubber bullets without warning although we pleaded with the police that she was deaf and to let her be on the sidewalk. Please assist us as we try to find normalcy. Medical bills are coming and we will find out more about her injuries and physical therapy to come. As Marisol is deaf we feel that she has the right to an attorney to defend her ADA rights. Once her medical expenses are met we would like to hire a civil rights lawyer if at all possible. We have created a Venmo in an attempt to avoid fees or opening a go fund me. Please help out so that we can get back to helping others.
I would also like to add that we need to pay an interpreter so that Marisol can be more involved in meetings and decision making. It would make life so much easier if I could support her rather than be constantly interpreting.
