Hi, my name is Adriana Sierra and I am the mother of Sabian Sierra.

Recently, Sabian has been diagnosed with an infectious disease in his right hip/femur bone called (osteomyelitis) and is currently being hospitalized for a really bad infection and bacterial infections that has been accumulating in his right hipbone/femur, the infection and bacteria was so bad that it was eating through the bone and settling, making itself a home, causing Sabian to be in a lot of pain. How this started was on September 6 , 2023 he was playing at school and fell and hit his hip on a pole which caused the pain to occur and the fact that there was something going on because he was in pain for three days. After a while I figured that something is not right. He is a tough kid and he has been crying every night because of pain so on September 8 , I went and took him to the urgent care at the Children’s Hospital in Broomfield ,they ran X-ray ,CAT scan and MRI because they thought he had a pathologic fracture on his hip/femur . After many hours in the urgent care they transferred him to ER and treated him for an emergency patient, and after many more hours waiting for MRI results they came back showing that Sabian had a major infection, growing bacteria in his hip/femur area. The ER doctor came in and gave us the news that Sabian is going to be transferred to Children’s Hospital in Aurora at the Anschutz medical center and is going to undergo surgery in the morning. This was a heavy hit for me and the family and of course most of all for Sabian, we had no idea what was coming ,

as far as what was going to happen, and how it was going to happen and what the outcome was going to be. Saturday September 9, 2023 Sabian was prepped and had a 3hr surgery. Thank God surgery was very successful. They cleaned out and took out all the mucus and bacteria, and ran biopsies as well as started investigation of what kind of infection and bacteria it is .

The infectious specialist has had this infection/bacteria growing in their lab figuring it out and running many studies on it. During this time Sabian and I have been in the hospital waiting and Sabian being recovering from his surgery also treated with a high intensive anabiotic and many blood work.

So with this being said we decided to start a GoFundme page. The Sierra family is gonna need all the help they can get , small donations, big donations, whatever our family and friends can help with. I had to take a leave of absence to be able to be home 24-7 to care for any of Sabians needs . During his hospitalization, and after his journey to recovery, this infection can come back so it’s very critical that he is taken care of very well. If it reoccurs Sabian would have to return and have another surgery. For those of you who knew that Dad Isaias Sierra Jr just recently returned back to work from having a major colon surgery that left him out of work for 6 months so now with this happening with Sabian is for sure, no doubt going to impact us financially.
