Medical bills help for the Betancourt home

Hi, my name is Torie Blowe

Lets start this story on telling you what I do, in my line of work I monitor foster homes on the daily to make sure they stay licenses, have everything they need for the kids, and make sure everything goes smoothly for the home after foster care.

I got the opportunity to meet the amazing Betancourt family about 1 1/2 years ago and they are the most loving and sweetest people I have ever known. They took in their Great Niece and nephews after them being in a completely awful situation. This past year I got to witness these kids learn and grow in the home and I got to be apart of this family’s journey to adoption.

Well… this family hasn’t been able to catch a break. Their youngest baby was previously diagnosed with Autism and now diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease.

Mitochondrial disease (mito) is a debilitating and potentially fatal disease that reduces the ability of the mitochondria to produce this energy. When the mitochondria are not working properly, cells begin to die until eventually whole organ systems fail and the patient's life itself is compromised.

Only at age 5 this sweet baby has to experience what we would call the worst!

I am here today pleading and begging others to please help me help this family fight for his life. Just to even walk into the specialist office they need to see in Houston is going to cost them $500

I need to do whatever I can to make this as easy as possible for them, every penny counts towards this. They are just the sweetest and no one deserves to go through what they are having to go through. Also, no child deserves to go through what he has already experienced in his 5 years of life and NOW THIS!!! I am truly heart broken for him and the family.
