Medical Bills for UHD Student
Donation protected
This is Jordan. I've been working with Jordan for almost 10 years now and he was shot a few weeks ago when someone tried to steal his car. The bullet shattered his hip and pelvis requiring multiple surgeries (pending another one before Christmas). He cannot walk at the moment, but starts physical therapy soon. For Giving Tuesday, At-Promise Youth Solutions decided start this campaign to help cover his medical bills that currently stand at over $330,000 as a result of this crime. Please consider donating. All funds will go directly to Jordan's medical care and expenses. A little bit of back story: Jordan became an orphan at 11 years old. When I met him, he was couch-surfing and barely coming to school...doing what it took to survive as a kid on the streets. Here's the deal, Jordan is super smart! He graduated from Elsik HS in Alief, TX and received a scholarship from a private donor. He currently attends University of Houston Downtown as a junior while working full time in construction and making mostly A's. But, he ended up losing most of this semester and cannot work due to his injuries. Jordan's life has been so greatly impacted by his access to a college education that he was able to share his story along with our organization at a statewide conference this past summer. We won't let this crime put a stop to his education and future! Help us make sure that Jordan gets back on his feet again (literally!) as quickly as possible. www.atpromiseyouthsolutions.org
