Medical bills for Skip

Hi.....

I find that I am in a position today, where I am forced to put my pride away, and reach out for help. As hard as this is to share, I am completely out of options. I'm exhausted and suffering with anxiety and depression myself because of it. I can't make it better or solve it. As a wife and mom it has always been my job to fix everyone and everything for my family and that includes my husband. I am struggling with so much grief over what he has been dealing with. Skip has been in treatment for almost 8 months, for a severe anxiety disorder, ptsd, and has also been dealing with depression which has emerged from these two conditions. This treatment has not resulted in the improvement we have been hoping for. We are currently awaiting the results of genetic testing to help his doctors determine the most appropriate medication his body will respond to. The on and off again testing of different medications has just been too stressful on him.

That being said, it has reached the point where it's been determined that he will require very specific care from a different professional who is not covered by our insurance. There are only TWO individuals we know of who offer this care. As a family of six, we are simply unable to afford the cost of this care out of pocket.

I am beyond feeling bad for asking for help. I have never cried more IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

This man I am married to is THE MOST SELFLESS and generous man I have ever known. He works every day ALL day to make sure that his family has all that they need and has neglected himself for everyone else's happiness and well being for WAY TOO LONG. I am not willing to allow him to suffer anymore than he already has.

Mental health is no joke. Anxiety is no joke. PTSD is no joke.

It should NEVER be this difficult for a human being to get the RIGHT care when they need it.

And this is why I am reaching out.
