In early April 2023, Ryan and Liz's 3 year-old son, Zion Rivers, was hospitalized with a perceived viral infection. After days of continued pain and testing, Zion had an emergency appendectomy. There were minor complications during the surgery and Zion has still been experiencing weakness and is struggling to hold down milk and solid foods.
We are praying for a quick and full recovery for his little body.
Ryan and Liz have been doing missions work in Thailand for years, and all their income has come from generous monthly supporters and churches. In the past year (due to a variety of reasons) they have lost a large portion of their monthly support. Along with other surprise medical bills, this current hospital stay is putting them in a financially unstable place.
The hospital is projecting this current bill to be around $7,000 (and he is not yet home!).
Thank you for considering to support their family during this time.
About Ryan and Liz
Ryan and Liz have collectively been in ministry for over 15 years. They met in 2016 while both were serving in Thailand with YWAM. Liz was serving with an Anti-Trafficking ministry as a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Instructor as well as the English Coordinator at a drop-in center for at-risk youth while Ryan was serving as a part of the Leadership Team in YWAM Ubon helping to lead the base as well as doing village and homeless ministry. They were married in 2018 and welcomed their first son, Zion Rivers, in 2019 and their daughter, Luna, in 2022.
After the birth of their son and through some incredibly miraculous encounters, they felt led to Northern Thailand to serve with The RICD Wheelchair project. The RICD Wheelchair Project strives to provide mobility aid and additional medical equipment to the people of Thailand, raise awareness regarding the needs of those affected by disabilities, and empower and encourage the disadvantaged to become fully integrated into their communities.
