Medical Bills for Michael Trucks

Donation protected

Hi my name is Kaylen Trucks I’m the daughter of Michael and Misty and I’m trying all I can do to help my mom pay for my dads medical bills. Since my dad was 13 he knew he had a heart murmur. It never really effected him until these past few months. He began getting overly tired and exhausted after a days work and sometimes in pain. One day he decided to go get checked out. Little did he know his heart murmur had gotten critical. The doctor told him he needed to get his valve replaced as soon as possible. From there appointments were set up to start his surgery journey and on June 14th he went into open heart surgery to replace his valve. The surgery went well with just a few concerns which turned out not being a problem. He spent 5 days at the Pinehurst heart center. After being cleared to leave, my mother brought him home and I got to see him in a more comfortable setting. Almost half a week went by at home and his progress was great, he was able to eat good and walk around but was still limited on what he could do.

Tuesday, June 22, the day started out out just like the past few had. The day went well as my mom and dad spent the day together at the house. That night he started feeling bad when he asked my mom to call for help. She immediately knew it was going to be bad. That’s where it all went downhill.

An ambulance arrived and took him to the closest hospital which was in High Point. There they did a CT scan and found fluid around his heart. They decided it was better to move him to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and in the process of air lifting him he went into cardiac arrest. They performed CPR for the next five minutes until they regained a pulse and continued the airlift to the hospital. After arriving at Wake Forest Baptist they took him straight into surgery and drained the fluid from around his heart. After the surgery they took him to the ICU and began taking him off of his sedatives. After trying to wake him up they realized he was not regaining consciousness. They took him for another CT scan to check out what was happening, and from there found out what was wrong. Somewhere in the process of transporting him he had multiple massive strokes which in turn caused damage in his brain in various places. Right now he is still at Baptist fighting for his life.

Our family needs as much help as we can get whether it be a donation or prayer (or whatever it is that you can do to help). If you knew Michael personally you know that he is an amazing husband, father, and friend. We have the support of friends and family all over and we need your support too. We love any and everyone that is here and helping in this process. <3
