Medical Bills for Jimmy & Jana Rourk Family

On July 20th, Jimmy and Jana Rourk's 9 year old son Zeke (4th of 5 children) fell on a bar and lacerated his spleen. The level 4 laceration was so severe that he was airlifted to a hospital in Temple, Texas where after a few days of monitoring it was determined that he needed surgery to remove his spleen. The surgery was successful, and Zeke is now recovering. As he continues to improve the family hopes to be able to return home soon.

As you can imaging the cost of all of this will be significant once the bills start filing in. Jimmy is a good friend of mine. He and I were roommates for a couple of years just out of college. I asked him if I could start this fund for them to help with medical expenses. Their maximum out of pocket cost their insurance is $8,000 per year which they are very likely to exceed for this week-long hospital visit. At the very least they will have deductibles, medications, and the ongoing needs of Zeke living without a spleen.

Please give any amount you can so that we can build up an amount here that will cover all of the unexpected costs so they can focus their energy on helping Zeke recover instead of worrying about medical bills and other expenses. I will update the details once I know more.
