Bart was rushed to the emergency room on May 20th by a friend, who found him in an extreme amount of pain.  They immediately admitted him and began to run test. After numerous test they found he had a blockage in his colon, Crohn's Disease and Diverticulitis. They had to put a NG tube in to help suction the fluid from his abdomen, in hopes to relieve some of the pain.  Since the 20th of May they have tried everything to help heal his colon to relieve his extreme discomfort. Unfortunately nothing they tried helped. On Monday, June 18th they did surgery, which lasted almost 4 hrs. They had to remove part of his colon and luckily did not have to leave him with a colostomy bag. After surgery they moved him to the ICU unit for care so they can keep a close eye on him while he recovers. They feel that Bart should be able to make a full recovery after lots of rest and rehabilitation.
Bart is self-employed, and is not eligible for disability, and he has exhausted his financial resources.  He has been unable to work, and he has no means to take care of the numerous amount of hospital bills and everyday bills that are mounting daily since he entered the hospital. He needs help financially, so he doesn't lose his home, that he has lived in for almost 15 yrs, and to be able to continue to pay for his medical coverage, and medical bills.
Please  help your friend, co-worker, neighbor and my brother. Bart has always given to his community and anyone who needs a helping hand, this time he is the one in need.
