2/22/24- Audra took her last breath today. She was with her husband, Anthony and Erik. I know in my heart that my Dad and Brother were there to receive her. A million thanks to all that sent emails, texts, food and support for our family.

2/21/24 update:

Audra continues to fight, I’m not surprised she would prove hospice wrong! It’s day five on hospice, and It’s hard to watch her slowly pull away from us. Her breathing is shallow and her urine is changing to orange. She’s started taking morphine but she looks very peaceful. I honestly pray for a cure for this. Even if she can’t be the one to get it, I pray no one else goes through it. All of your support for Ken, the kids and us are keeping are spirits up. You may think you don’t want to “bother” us. You aren’t! You’re keeping us distracted from her fate and we very much appreciate you. ~ Erika

2/19/24 Update:

The outpouring of support and love shown for Audra only shows how much she was loved. We are forever grateful for all of the generosity you have shown for Ken & Audra. Audra, was taken home on hospice Friday, February 16th 2024. That day, the hospice nurse told us she had three days. Today, is day three and by gods grace, she is still here. She is surrounded by her husband, family and friends, pretty much all day. She of course is continuing to fight, just like we knew she would.

My Sister Audra, the boys Mom, has been diagnosed with CJD

on January 8th she started showing signs of a possible stroke and over the last 5 weeks has progressively gotten worse despite all treatments she has been given. Our hearts are broken.

Yesterday we were given the CJD diagnosis and told she has 1 to 3 weeks to live. If you know Audra, you know she is a tough cookie and she has been just as tough throughout this entire process. However, fate has given her no chance.

Audra and Ken have spent the last 33 years together, never apart. They have raised 6 boys and have three beautiful grandchildren.

Audra has been in ICU for 14 days and is being put on hospice care, tomorrow. The kids and I would like to ask for your support in helping Ken through not only losing his life long “person” but to help him not suffer through medical expenses after.
