Medical Bills for Arlyn

Hi, my name is Allegra and I'm fundraising for medical bills for my cat, Arlyn. I adopted her in winter 2021 when her lifelong owner entered a nursing home. She is the sweetest and friendliest cat - anyone who visited our home in CT can attest that she runs to greet any new person at the door. She loves to sit on laps, snuggle, and look out the window. During the depths of 2021-Covid-isolation, she really saved me.

This spring, she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, a common disease in middle-aged cats due to environmental toxins that are endemic in indoor environments. We tried the lowest-cost treatment option, but she had a severe allergic reaction to the medication (apparently that is a thing!). The next treatment option costs $2500. She's otherwise very healthy, so the vet considers her a good candidate for treatment.

As a person in a low-paying ministry job, with student loans, and paying rent in this economy, this poses a huge challenge. Any of my friends and family can attest that I seldom(/never?) ask for help, but I decided to take a risk and make this post. I'm aware that many of my social media connections are also in grad school or in low-paying ministry jobs, so no pressure; but truly, any contribution helps! Thank you.
