It pains me to write this. My 15 year old daughter is in need help... She took 28 pills of over the counter tylenol to end her life... Back story: Arissa aas born in May of 2005. Her biological father and I were high school sweet hearts. We were 17 years old, having a little baby ourselves. After 18, he found a way to start drinking. He was jealous and then lost his job. He became physically and mentally abusive. Arissa was just barley 2 years old when he father was finally arrested for domestic violence for trying to kill me and punching her. We separated at that time. At 4.5 years old Arissa was almost expelled from pre school for her unstable behavior. She was showing signs of PTSD among others. She was evaluated and then diagnosed by 5 years old with Mixed Manic Bipolar. They said its partially hereditary and from the abuse from her biological father. She began a long road of different medications and counseling... July 2014, We made the move to Utah from Southern California. She didn't take this very well and had a breakdown. She started cutting herself and wrote a sucide note on a closet bar. She was taken to the hospital 4 times before they admitted her to U OF U Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI) for care. She spent 11 days in there and was placed on new medications. Later the medication was taking a toll on her kidneys and needed to be changed in late 2018. In between she still had our bursts, became a run away a few times and stole money from family. In January 2019, Arissa contacted her biological father via social media. He proceeded to tell her, he had a new family and wanted nothing to do with her. He then blocked her from everything. Not even his family knows where he is. Arissa always wanted her father in her life, so this new just crushed her. She took apart a razor and slit her wrist. She was taken to the hospital by her Aunt as I was at work. Again, she was admitted to UNI for a little over a week and then spent 9 weeks in a day treatment program. September 2019, she started cutting again when I had 3 surgeries, car accident and her little sister was hospitalized with Kawasaki Disease. We thought she was getting better for 2020 until the COVID-19 lock down. Being cut away from the world and not getting the school support or help took a hard toll on her. June 2020, I recieved news I would be termed from the job I held for 4.5 years due to outsourcing to another country. Arisaa felt our family would financially benefit if she was gone. On July 2nd, she took 28 pills of over the counter tylenol while I was at my doctor appointment. She was watching her 8 year old brother. She didn't tell me what she had done until she started throwing up when I tried to get her to eat dinner. This was about 4 hours after she had taken the pills. After calling poison control, I immediately took her to Davis Hospital, where she received IV treatments to get rid of the medication. She proceeded to be sick and was in and out of consciousness. By 7am on Friday the 3rd, she was medically cleared and then transferred to UNI once again. Arissa is currently still in the hospital and is improving, a lot of changes have been done. With my job termination coming up, I will lose my health benefits and need money to continue getting the treatment she needs. She is a beautiful young lady and when under control she had such a big heart. I fear without the help, her next attempt will be her last.
