Medical Bills for Aché Leader Jose Kuategi

Jose Kuategi is one of the oldest leaders and  founder of the Puerto Barra Aché community. Kuategi survived genocide, persecution, and disease after being displaced from his land for commercial agriculture.  Kuategi led his community as they were forced to leave their hunter-gatherer lifestyle behind. 

Since then, Kuategi has worked tirelessly to teach the next generations of the Aché's history and culture. 

Recently, Kuategi has been hospitalized and is fighting a severe case of phenomena. The Aché community is in need of financial aid to support the costs of Kuategi's treatments and hospitalization. We are striving to raise $1000 to provide Kuategi with the medical care needed to recover.
