These are my parents, David and Jamie Crumpler, and they could use a Christmas miracle. In October, my mom started to experience intense pain in her lower abdomen. Long story short, after a trip to the ER, an ambulance ride to another hospital, and an emergency surgery, her intestines were repaired. We thought she made a full recovery. Then 3 weeks later the same issue happened again and resulted in 2 additional surgeries!! Luckily, she’s fine now but these procedures, the ambulance ride, and the days spent in ICU have left my parents with a staggering amount of medical debt.
My father is a full time chaplain for a maximum security prison in NC. He also serves as pastor of a Baptist church. He is covered with medical insurance, but my mother is not.
If you know my mom, then you’ve probably served with her or been helped by her. My mother has one of the kindest, loving hearts of anyone I know. She spends much of her time volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse, Kairos Prison Ministry, and organizing/singing music at their church.
My parents have invested their whole adult lives in serving the communities they live in. They work very hard so others can experience the love of the Lord. My father feels called into the work he does, but he works long, hard hours. I fear, without your help, this medical debt will cripple them financially. My dad has been diagnosed with longterm medical conditions of his own this year. Realistically, he will never be able to pay these bills. It’s not easy to ask for help, but please consider helping my parents get out from under these medical bills. Thank you for reading my parent’s story. Wishing you a safe, happy, and healthy Christmas and 2021!!
