My name is Renajda, and i’m making this gofundme account in effort to help my mother with her medical bills. Her name is Mersija but people call her Meri for short.

Three years ago my mother had a heart attack, shortly after she had a severe allergic reaction to the medications the doctors gave her which left her having to be taken cared of by me. Her health kept declining from there. We found out she has an autoimmune disease very similar to lupus, but haven’t been able to find an actual diagnosis. She has severe arthritis in her wrists and hands, and the autoimmune disease is stopping her from working. Her hands will swell up almost three times the size of a regular hand. It makes it really hard for her to do daily activities. I finally was able to coordinate with her doctors and put her on medications that will help prevent another heart attack and help with the pain of the autoimmune disease.

We recently found out she has stage 1 breast cancer a couple of weeks ago. The imaging, the back and forth doctors appointments have been racking up quickly and it is getting to the point where we don’t know if we can afford this surgery to have the surgeon remove the cancerous tissue out of her right breast. She is unable to work as many hours due to the pain she ensures on a daily basis and the medications she is on constantly put her in a lethargic mood.

My brother, sister and I are working day and night trying to find resources, trying to work to help pay the bills but it’s becoming overwhelming and we are terrified we will get stuck in a black hole of medical bill debt that we cannot get out of. If anybody is willing to pitch in, we would highly appreciate it from the bottom of our heart. Our mother hasn’t been able to get a break with her medical needs the past several years, i’m hooping the least I can do for her is take care of the medical bills so she can rest and get the medical care she needs.

Prije tri godine moja mama je imala srčani udar, nedugo nakon što je imala tešku alergijsku reakciju na lijekove koje su joj davali ljekari, zbog čega sam morala da se brinem o njoj. Odatle joj se zdravlje stalno pogoršavalo. Saznali smo da ima autoimunu bolest vrlo sličnu lupusu, ali nismo uspjeli pronaći pravu dijagnozu. Ima težak artritis zglobova i šaka, a autoimuna bolest je sprečava da radi. Ruke će joj nateći skoro tri puta više od obične ruke. To joj zaista otežava obavljanje svakodnevnih aktivnosti. Konačno sam uspila da se koordiniram s njenim doktorima i da joj lijekove koji će spriječiti novi srčani udar i pomoći kod bolova autoimune bolesti.

Nedavno smo saznali da ima rak dojke u faza 1 prije nekoliko sedmica. Snimanje, pregledi kod doktora se brzo nagomilavaju i dolazi do tačke u kojoj ne znamo da li možemo da priuštimo ovu operaciju da ukloni kancerogeno tkivo iz njene desne dojke. Ne može raditi toliko sati zbog bola koje joj daje svakodnevno, a lijekovi koje stalno uzimaju dovode je u letargično raspoloženje.

Moj brat, sestra i ja radimo dan i noć pokušavajući da pronađemo resurse, pokušavamo da radimo kako bismo pomogli u plaćanju računa, ali to postaje ogromno i užasavamo se da ćemo zaglaviti u crnoj rupi duga za medicinske račune iz koje ne možemo da izađemo. Ako je neko voljan da se uključi, mi bismo to od srca cijenili. Naša mati nije bila u mogućnosti da se odmori sa svojim medicinskim potrebama posljednjih nekoliko godina, nadam se da je najmanje što mogu učiniti za nju da se pobrinem za medicinske račune kako bi se mogla odmoriti i dobiti medicinsku njegu koja joj je potrebna.
