Hi,

My name is Lana Syriani and I’m one of Omar Reyna’s managers at Francois Frankie.

Omar, 28 years old was shot and critically wounded at 1:40 am on Friday, April 21, 2023. He has had his first surgery to remove the bullet from his abdomen. A second surgery will be performed later in the evening.

Omar has two children ages 9, and 6 years old that rely on his income and need our support

Omar has been part of Chicago’s restaurant industry for the last decade or so. He is kind, generous, positive, and will never let anyone go hungry.

UPDATE 4/25

Omar is finally drinking water on his own, and only eating ice chips at the moment. Jello, ice cream, or broth is making him vomit immediately. He was taken out of critical care and is currently stable. He starts physical therapy on Wednesday 4/26.

May 5-

Omar is eating and drinking water on his own! Physical therapy has started and he’s responding very well to antibiotics from the infection to caught last week. He no longer needs a catheter, which is huge step in the right direction to healing ❤️‍
