Hello Friends and Family! By now, a lot of you have learned that my life-long best friend, Martinsville native, and truly one of the best men you could ever know, Randy Manley, recently underwent a life changing medical procedure due to complications from diabetes. Randy had to have half of his right leg amputated. He spent one week in the hospital post-surgery, is in his second week in a rehabilitation facility, and has at least another three weeks to be there.
Randy is the last person who would ever request help from others because he is always the one giving. So we are stepping in to hopefully help make this journey a little less stressful by removing a couple of heavy pressure items off of his mind. Randy is truly the perfect representation of someone whose primary goal is to take care of others, be there for others, gives quietly as he believes that is God’s way, and has a deep love for people. God blessed Randy with a tremendous capacity for sharing joy and laughter. He is truly a selfless man. His biggest concern with this medical crisis? I sat there with him the night before his surgery and he was concerned and upset that he would be “letting people down” who had made arrangements for him to come to their homes as a certain jolly man from the North Pole, something he has been doing for decades. Here he is, quite critically ill, about to have life changing surgery, and he is worried about others. This is our buddy!
Randy has a deep love for his family, his friends, and does he ever love his Green Township School kids! Mr. Randy was created to make a difference in children’s lives.
There are two immediate needs. One is there are already substantial medical bills, and those will continue to be incurred for quite sometime. Second, is before Randy can return to his home, his bathroom will need to be renovated to install a walk-in shower, as well as a few other adjustments to make it safe for him. There may also be some additional house adjustments needed to ensure his safety as well as accommodate a wheelchair. It would be great if we can get some labor and materials donated, but either way, let’s do this for this very deserving man.
Randy will be unable to work for quite sometime as he heals from the surgery, completes rehabilitation, and learns this new way of life.
Randy is praising God for keeping him
alive, as are we, and he is leaning hard into his faith. And we know if you ask Randy what he “needs”, he will simply respond, “prayers.”
We know there are those who prefer to donate via check, and if that’s the case, please make the check out to me, with a notation of “Randy Manley” in the Memo field. Lisa or I will make arrangements to meet to collect any donations outside of this page. Please private message us to make those arrangements.
On behalf of Randy, we thank you so very much. And May God continue to be with Randy on this very unexpected journey.
