Bobby Queen and his wife Sylvia live in Ridgeway VA, and are facing some huge medical issues. When he was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, his first concern was not for himself, but for his wife Sylvia. They currently heat their house with a woodstove, and he worries about how she will deal with that if something happens to him. We are hoping to help him with funds for a new heat pump for their home, as well as help with mounting medical bills.

After retiring as a truck driver, Bobby was a Meals on Wheels driver in the Martinsville and Henry County, Virginia areas until these recent health issues.

For those who don’t know, the Meals on Wheels program ensures that every senior in America has a chance to live a fully nourished life, with independence and dignity…for as long as they can remain in their own

home. Much of the time, the delivery drivers are the only human contact these seniors have every day.

Here’s Bobby’s devastating journey over the last 11 months. In October 2020, Bobby had developed a vascular vein issue that limited blood flow to his legs to less than 50%. After the doctors inserted stents in his

legs, there was minimal improvement.

In January 2021, they were unsuccessful at removing numerous blockages. They did a stress test as preparation for leg bypass surgery. Unfortunately, from that test, they discovered a heart problem.

In March, a heart surgeon told Bobby he needed triple bypass heart surgery. During that surgery, several masses were found on one of his lungs. In July, a lung doctor scheduled biopsies on 3 spots on Bobby’s lung.

Before they could take the biopsies, they discovered he had bladder cancer.

In August, Bobby had bladder cancer surgery. Much of the cancer was too close to blood vessels and veins to be removed. In late August, Bobby met with his oncologist from the Moses Cone network in Greensboro. He was told the unrelated cancer that was in one lung has now spread to the other lung.

A CT scan and additional blood work was done, and Bobby should have the results at his September 10 appointment. We are praying for as good of news as possible.

Bobby is a very good man and he is selfless. He is worried most about his wife who had a major stroke in 2020 which limited her mobility. She had to retire and has continuing health issues also.
