Medical bills after mini stroke

Donation protected
Hello for those who do not know me my name is Sabrina, as some know back at the beginning of April during a family dinner I began to feel extremely odd. When I tried to get up for some air I realized I was unable to move my right leg and soon after my right arm gave out as well. When I tried speaking to my husband I was unable to make sentences and I then suffered from a severe stutter than continued to get worse. My husband was able to call for an ambulance and when I got to the hospital I was put on a medication called TPA (clot buster) immediately. After a couple days and many tests later I was sent home still knowing nothing. To be honest it seemed as if no one was listening to me or cared. It wasn’t until 2 weeks later a neurologist called me to let me know it was a mini stroke (TIA) and I needed to come in.

They had found a PFO ( a hole between the left and right atria of the heart) and believe a blood clot could have passed through causing this mini stroke to occur. I am extremely lucky to have been able to get to the hospital and on TPA when I did because we aren’t sure if we waited longer what effects it could have had on me. Although it was not a full blown stroke I am left with constant panic attacks, vertigo, insomnia, light sensitivity, confusion and some others I am not comfortable with sharing.

I am making this go fund me today because my husband and I were hoping that our medical insurance would cover the cost of the medical bills, etc. however Aetna has been a nightmare and has denied a huge portion of my care. So I am making this for help with the countless amount of specialist visits, tests and now procedures I have gone through and will continue to go through. During this time I have not been able to drive due to the severe vertigo and light sensitivity which has led to not being able to hold a job, causing more stress.

I am slowly on my way to being able to be self sufficient again and am hoping for a full recovery someday soon. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any donations or shares means the world to me.

To recognize the sudden onset of symptoms, stroke experts recommend memorizing an acronym—FAST:
Face (drooping of the face)
Arm (arm weakness)
Speech (slurred speech)
Time (time counts—call 911 immediately)
