Ray is a trans POC community organizer in immediate need of funds to pay for dental surgery that will cost them thousands of dollars. They have been ruled ineligible for most financial assistance, including unemployment insurance and rent assistance, and are experiencing this medical emergency during a time where they have already had difficulty paying rent. As a result of this, they’re also experiencing eviction threats. 

Ray has spent years giving themselves to the community around them through engaging in mutual aid, maintaining halfway housing, and leading antiracist community organizing in response to violence against marginalized people — it’s right that we collectively give back in their time if need. This fundraiser is to cover their surgery, housing, and other necessary expenses while they heal. Meeting our goal will mean Ray can pay for the medical care they need and stay housed and fed in the process.
