Many of you know Rick Hanson and that he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis 2 1/2 years ago. With this disease the only cure is to have a lung transplant. After two years of fighting this disease, and finding out that he was not eligible for a lung transplant he is in his final stage of life.

On Thursday October 12, Rick was having major breathing issues and was transported to Greater Regional Hospital in Creston. From there his lung care team in Iowa City wanted him life flighted from Creston to Iowa City. In one day he got his first ambulance and helicopter rides.

It was in Iowa City we found out that he would not be able to have the transplant and that he would just receive palliative care.

We need help with the costs of his medical care he has and will receive in Iowa City. Plus helping family with hotel costs while staying there to be with their husband, dad and grandpa.
