Medical bill help for Fatima

My name is Lauren Hawkins and I've had the privilege of knowing Fatima for the last 3 years. I consider her part of our family as she helps watch my daughter Lola on a consistent basis. She is the kindest, most loving girl and when I found out about her nearly fatal car accident, I offered to set up this page for her. Please see her story below. Thank you for reading and God Bless.

I am super grateful if you come across this page and are able to help our family. On Friday, December 8th my 21 year old sister, Fatima, was in a life-changing car accident with 2 other friends. The car flipped over a bridge and landed underneath an overpass on Loop 12 in Dallas. Our family arrived at the hospital to find out that she was listed as a Jane Doe (no ID found on her) and was in the OR. After speaking with police and identifying that it was indeed Fatima, we found her injuries to be as extreme as you could imagine. The news story that featured her accident thought she was dead and the County Coroner was called to the scene. If you know Fatima, you know she doesn't give up easily and is a fighter. She had to have multiple organs removed, over 15 broken and fractured ribs, punctured lungs, shattered pelvis, fractured spine and shoulder. As of January 3, 2024 she is still in the hospital battling infection while allowing her body to heal each day. We are so grateful to have her still with us, she's the light to our little family. The funniest, sweetest, most caring girl you will ever meet. She is always on the go, working and in school and still making time for her friends and family. Fatima's road to recovery will be long and challenging as she will need extensive physical therapy once she is discharged from the hospital to learn to navigate her new normal. Her medical bills are estimated to be over $300,000 after 4 surgeries and at least 30 days in the hospital.
