Medical Assistance for Senior Citizens
Donation protected
Want to join us in making a difference? Covid-19 has taken the world by storm and impacted many lives, causing thousands of deaths worldwide. This disease is particularly harmful to elderly people with underlying medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease. Seniors in nursing homes and long term care facilities are at a much higher risk of developing more severe medical conditions.
We will be aiding low-income seniors who live in public housing facilities provided by the Los Angeles County Community Development Authority and the Los Angeles County Community Development Foundation. The money raised will provide the necessary funds to purchase blood pressure cuffs, blood sugar monitoring devices, and pulse oximeters for the sheltered in seniors. If high blood pressure is left unchecked, it can lead to hospitalization and other life threatening complications. The monitors and equipment provided from these funds will make prevention easy. Additionally, we will be connecting with many of these senior personally to discuss results and provide healthy conversation during self-isolation. We will be assisting Libertana, a home health agency in charge of providing medical supervision for these seniors and interfacing with their primary care doctors. A donation of $30 dollars can provide one blood pressure cuff for a senior. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated.
