Rich Furman Medical Assistance

My dear brother, Rich Furman has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer (adenocarcinoma) that metastasized to liver, mesocolon, and local lymph nodes on January 22, 2021. He is only 46 years old. Our mother passed at a young age of 58 with pancreatic cancer, so my brother knows what path he has ahead. We are all devastated. The oncologist told him that the most he has is 18 months (that’s with chemo, if his body will accept it) and with no conventional treatment only up to six months. Pancreatic cancer is very aggressive and terminal even with conventional treatment. Stage 4 has a five year survival rate of less than 1%. His wife of 20 years, Marta, high school sweetheart, is not willing to accept this death sentence and has been researching for alternative treatments. They have two children, Ella 17 years old and Matthew 10 years old, who adores his daddy.

Rich is currently undergoing a very aggressive holistic treatment, which is quite costly and not covered by insurance. If it doesn’t work, their naturopath oncologist advised them to go to Hope 4 Cancer clinic in Mexico, which costs $60,000, just in upfront costs. They already spent countless thousands of dollars in out of pocket costs on holistic treatments, doctor visits, supplements, hospital stays, tests, etc. and I want to lessen the financial burden on them, as he is not working and still waiting for disability to be approved. Many of you have reached out to see how you could help as the cost of treatment is not cheap. Even though his wife has been resistant to the idea of the GoFundMe, she agreed, as this could have the possibility of allowing Rich to go to Mexico for treatment, which has a 50% survival rate.
