As many of you may know our beloved Andrea Eaton, you are privy to some of the challenges life has brought her. At just ten years old, Andrea was classified as a juvenile diabetic. Since then, she has endured multiple surgeries, painful doctors’ visits, and many more challenges as she has navigated through her life with this illness. Unfortunately, Andrea’s kidneys have fallen below their functioning purposes. We as her family have made many strides in taking her to and from Birmingham, New Orleans, and surrounding areas along the coast for visits to kidney specialists. Recently, we have been blessed to receive news that our Andrea has made her way up the donor list to receive a new kidney. While this news brings us hope for her recovery, it also brings financial demands that we are unfortunately unable to meet. Today, we come forward asking for help from any friends, family members, or acquaintances who can find it in their heart to aid in the assistance with the medication, travel, and boarding expenses associated with her medical care. In the event that we are called to have Andrea receive her kidney, she will be required to relocate and recover in the designated city of that kidney for a minimum of six to eight weeks. Along with the stay, anti-rejection drugs post-surgery are crucial in the effectiveness of this much needed transplant. Even after factoring in her insurance, these drugs have proven to be very costly in addition to the aforementioned expenses. We have been very strong throughout the ups and downs of the complications that this has brought Andrea, but we are now asking for help in alleviating the financial stress so that we can bring home a healthy mother, friend, and loved one of many.
