On February 23, 2025, Robert Peel was badly injured in a work-related accident. He spent more than a month in the hospital and left with life-changing injuries: both of his legs were broken from the knee down, he lost his right ring finger and pinky to amputation, and suffered third-degree burns across his legs, arms, and hands.

Since then, Robert has been fighting to recover, but his healing has been delayed and complicated. Nearly seven months later, he still has external fixators in his legs — devices that should have been removed for follow-up surgery back in March. Multiple hospitals have declined his surgeries due to insurance acceptance issues. His primary care doctor and insurance company are doing what they can, but the limited network of hospitals has created major obstacles.

Why Robert Needs Help

Robert and his family have done everything possible. His single mother, already working hard to care for her family, has taken on a huge financial burden alongside other relatives. Robert was working to build a better future when this accident happened.

Robert has been left to face mounting medical challenges, pain, and financial stress.

How Donations Will Be Used

All funds raised will go directly toward Robert’s urgent recovery needs, including:

Surgeries not yet performed due to insurance barriers

Out-of-pocket medical expenses, wound care, and rehabilitation

Travel and lodging for hospitals that can perform needed surgeries

Prosthetic fittings and adaptive equipment for daily life

Essential living expenses (groceries, utilities, and caregiving support) while Robert cannot work
