Update September 23
Nicole has been move to Genesis West to begin rehab. She is making improvements every day but is utterly frustrated with being in the hospital. Her speech is still slurred and her right arm is still immobile but her right leg is strengthening and gaining control. She still gets confused a lot and constantly wants to be able to go home.
Sept. 18 Nicole is out of ICU and regaining consciousness she was out for 5 days and while she was there they diagnosed her with (PRES) a condition similar to meningitis but cause by a spike in blood pressure. That along with the Inter cranial hematoma and stroke has really had the Doctors puzzled. Now that they have a treatment plan hopefully things will get better.
On Tuesday, August 30th, our daughter Nicole was found by her brother unconscious at her apartment. She was covered in bruises from head to toe, cuts and marks on her face, and she was completely unresponsive. Her mother immediately called paramedics, and she was taken to a local hospital. She has had several diagnostic tests, x-rays, CTs, bloodwork, spinal tap and MRIs. They have found swelling/bleeding in her brain, and severe bruising and continue to do brain wave activity tests. She is currently in an almost 100% unconscious state, has little to no speech (she can only mumble her name at times), and is now in the neurology wing after being moved from the ICU. We are still unsure of what happened to Nicole. We have heard she fell down a flight of stairs and was dropped off at her apartment; however, we are unconvinced if that was the case due to the severity of Nicole’s injuries. We do not understand how/why she was left alone in that state by people she knew and trusted. As she is our daughter, We are VERY concerned for Nicole’s safety and want to help her relocate to a safer area to recover once/if she is discharged from the hospital. Any help is appreciated & greatly needed. God Bless!
