Medical and Recovery Support for Jacob Lynn
Donation protected
In the early hours of January 1st, 2023, Jake and his 4 friends, all teens, were involved in a terrifying car accident. In the flash of a moment, we nearly lost an 18-year-old boy with his whole life ahead of him. It is a true miracle that these kids are alive.
Jake suffered severe injuries and is in the ICU with 4 fractured vertebrae, a fractured sternum, 4 fractured ribs and bruising to his left lung and abdomen. He will undergo spinal surgery on January 2nd… and then, with what will undoubtedly take an incredible amount of emotional and physical strength and resilience from Jake and his family, the recovery journey will start with the first baby steps.
Jake’s parents, Maris and Jim, are the kind of generous people who give anything they have to help a friend in need… it doesn’t matter whether their finances or time are already strained… they make it work.
And now they need us. Maris has taken a leave of absence from her job which will convert this dual-income family into single income for the foreseeable future. Jake, who has been working hard to help support himself and the family will not have any income. And we know those medical bills will be coming, and coming. We are hoping to relieve some of the financial burdens for this family so they can focus on the recovery journey.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your support of Jake, Maris and Jim as they battle through the days ahead.
And, please hug your babies extra tight. We almost lost our funny, caring, vibrant 18-year-old, our Jakey, Jakers, Maris’s “Henry”, a boy with his whole life ahead of him.
With love and gratitude.
