Update as of 6/27:
Hi all, I still cannot believe this is real and it is extremely difficult to type as it just makes it more real. Scott passed away June 26th around 4:45 pm at the young age of 54. His hospital room door was pretty much a revolving door these last few days of family and friends coming to visit and I cannot express my gratitude for all that rallied and supported Scott over the last few years but especially over the last week. He will be dearly missed but I just ask that you all keep him in your prayers that he is at peace and on his way home to our mom & grandparents.
We know that family and friends are located all over the state so we will be extremely grateful for anyone who is able to make it to the service to send him off. The visitation will take place at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park on Monday, July 1 from 10 am - 2 pm. A short service will take place at the funeral home and Scott will be laid to rest with his mom and grandparents at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock immediately following the service. Please share this information with anyone and everyone that would be interested in attending.
I want to express my gratitude once again for all those that have supported and prayed for him and our family during this time and especially for those that have helped out by giving to the gofundme set up in his honor. Your prayers and support are truly appreciated in these trying times.
Update as of about 5 pm 6/26:
Thank you all for your prayers. Things have gone so quickly, it is beyond my comprehension right now. Unfortunately my brother has just passed. Please pray that he is at peace and on his way home.
Hi everyone, it pains me to say that Scott is currently transitioning into hospice care. After battling mouth cancer since 2023, it has recently progressed and spread to his lungs. Plans for chemotherapy and radiation to begin this week have unfortunately been canceled as things just continue to progress quicker than any of us could have imagined. His strength and health are rapidly declining as the pain and side effects from the cancer and medication are rapidly increasing. We are trying to raise funds for any medical and end of life expenses that will be coming up in the near future.
You may know Scott from growing up in Lincoln Park attending LP schools, working at Allen Park’s Moros, attending Schoolcraft’s Culinary Arts Program mid 1990’s, and working at various other restaurants in the downriver area.
5 years ago Scott started his journey to recovery in the Traverse City area at Addiction Treatment Services. He picked up his passion for cooking at J&S Hamburg South Airport and then at Addiction Treatment Services in Traverse City.
Anyone that knows Scott or has a heart for his situation and is able to help out will be greatly appreciated.
