Last year Leslie Wilhelm found out her only son Derek, has cancer. They have spent the last year in countless medical appointments, including being at the hospital last Christmas. 

Derek is currently getting ready for a stem cell transplant. This will require approximately five week stay in the hospital. 

When Derek is in the hospital, it will be a lot of travel and stress on Leslie. It will impact the amount of time she is able to work and earn money. This could mean limited hours during this time for Leslie to be able to work. 

After the transplant, recovery from the stem transplant is 18-24 months. Which will continue to strain Leslie’s budget and working hours.

The money from this will go to medical expenses, and living expenses.
