My parents have always been the type to never ask anyone for a thing. In fact, rather than a hand out , they always give a hand to others. I want to do this for them, and I’m asking for your help if you’re able to. My mother has done a lot and means alot to many people, and right now she needs prayers from anyone that she can get them from.

If you don’t already know, my mother is currently fighting for her life in a critical care ICU unit. She fell out while shopping with my sister Saturday evening. My sister immediately began CPR (she would have not survived had she not) while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. I won’t go into details out of respect for her at this time, but the crew worked on her about 30-40 mins before being able to transport her. She had a rough and unstable transport then landed in the ICU shortly after arriving. She underwent therapeutic hypothermia treatment, which is where they cooled her body to 33 degrees Celsius and maintained that for 24 hours. They brought her back to temp over the course of 12 hours. There were a few little hiccups , but she did as well as we could have hoped for. The biggest concern for everyone is the time that she was down. We needed her to show up and show out coming off of sedation yesterday evening. Since yesterday about 1 PM , she has done just that. She was determined for us to see that she had the brain activity that they were so concerned about. We are obviously still evaluating, but she has moved her extremities, tried opening her eyes, and lifts her neck a little. The family appreciates all of the calls and messages. Unfortunately, at this time we just have A LOT going on. We do not have any answers yet , and do not know what happened to cause this. We have a lot to tackle before we are able to hopefully start finding some answers. Right now we are focusing on waking her up comfortably and brain functionality. As of this morning , she jumped another hurdle and breathed well enough to come off the vent. We have a very long road ahead and she is no where near out of the woods yet, but she has laced her shoes up and is ready to start walking out.

These next few days, weeks, and even months are going to be a very long journey for her and our family. It is unclear how long, but we know she is going to be out of the office.

There are obviously expenses such as food for family during hospital stays, travels home, hotel expenses (quick showers and one hour naps to keep from traveling home super often) , hospital bills as she was taken to a non-preferred hospital on her insurance , and general living expenses from her and her family missing work.

If you cannot donate, I will never turn down prayers as they have gotten us very far on our journey and we are ever so grateful. I would love to be able to share this with her and my dad allowing any funds collected to make things just a tad less stressful for them.
