Medical and Housing Funds for Rick Chapin

Hi! My name is Brooke, and we (the family) are trying to raise money to help uncle Rick cover expenses that have been put on him recently from his recent heart transplant. 

June 14th uncle Rick checked into Tampa General, after being advised that he needed to stay in the CICU. There, they determined he needed a heart transplant desperately and wasn’t realistically leaving without one. After a month of diligent work and help from loved ones and medical staff, he got on the list. A week later, he had a balloon pump installed in his heart to help bridge to a potential transplant. Finally, after nearly 2 months (total from checking in to surgery) on July 11th, our prayers were answered and uncle Rick got a new heart! The transplant was a giant success and he set out on a long road to recovery.

 All of this ended up resulting in numerous medical expenses including expensive medicines he’ll need to take and pay for, for at least 6 months. He also needs housing close to the hospital for the first few months due to having numerous regular appointments making sure his heart isn’t being rejected by his body. The hospital wants him within 30 minutes of them just in case things go sideways, so he can be there quickly.

 He has always been so generous with helping others, willing to go above and beyond for everyone, whenever they need; so we wanted to take this opportunity to do something for him when he could really use it.
