Hello! Some of you know me as your friendly neighbor clown, always down to goof around but now it’s time to get serious.

A few things I want to address. I’m making this fund to help raise the 2,000$ needed to get approved for the Brazilian Visa. The 2k has to stay untouched in my bank account for two months to get approved, so that’s why I asked for a little cushion to cover the other expenses. I’ll outline a few of the reasons here to show why this is urgent.

-Health-

I have been dealing with critical symptoms from lupus, some moving into second stage now. Endocarditis and pericarditis in the heart. Liver swollen the same. Kidneys struggling. On top of that, I’ve recently survived (what we thought was terminal) bacteremia from a MRSA staph infection, and this has weakened me severely. We need to move to more aggressive treatment, which I cannot afford even with insurance. Let’s mention as well this insurance is not stable, due to the Medicare cuts we are expecting. However, after marriage in Brazil I qualify for the Sistema Único de Saúde and can have access to Hydroxychloroquine, humira, chemotherapy and other life saving medications for MERE DOLLARS. not hundreds, We are talking maybe 6 USD. 36 BR. This is incredible and affordable only there, not here unfortunately.

-Housing-

As you may know already, since my divorce in 2020 I have not been able to get back on my feet. Many friends and relatives have offered their help in these years and I’m grateful. But my current housing situation was always meant to be temporary, and I’ve already overstayed and need to give them their space back to accommodate another family member of theirs. I need to find another place to live ASAP. My child will not be coming with me, for personal reasons I ask you all to respect please do not ask about my child past this, she is safe with her father and is completely seperate from my struggles. I have a place to stay once I arrive in Brazil thanks to some amazing connections and friends there, as well as my fiancé. The issue is getting there, once again blocked by the visa.

-Education/Job Opportunities-

It’s been a struggle to find even basic employment in my city. Countless applications and few interviews, no offers. Currently I am enrolled in the TEFL program and I am being certified to teach English as a foreign language. In order to fulfill the certification and gain the experience I need to teach at least one year abroad. I can obtain a job there, I have been getting opportunities already. However, they are asking for someone with a CPF who will be living in Brazil, and I do plan on obtaining this by marriage, the issue is getting INTO the country as this doesn’t qualify me for the work visa, I still need to enter with the tourist visa.

-Support System-

My fiancé is a big part of why I started making connections in Brazil. He has been there for me through all these health issues, supporting and caring for my mental health too. He’s a student in college in Brazil for psychology and as my best support system our marriage was planned way before the emergency relocation. He is also needing to leave his home for personal reasons as well. It’s just now we need to speed things up for my life sake. Marrying him will not only offer me a better quality of life health wise, citizenship in a country better suited to care for my needs, but also this marriage is a huge opportunity for us as people. We both will have a career, a home, and a better chance at gaining some stability while being loved and supported. All of this could be possible if I could just get this visa approved and head there to start this new chapter of my life.
