In October, my family faced a life-changing challenge when my dad had to undergo emergency surgery due to a rupture in his colon. This happened just as we had finally moved into our new home—a milestone that took us a long time to achieve. The timing couldn’t have been worse, as my dad has been out of work since the surgery, and he was our main source of income. Now, only two of us are able to work, and we do so by babysitting, which doesn’t bring in much money.

With my dad unable to get insurance, the medical bills from his surgery have started to pile up. On top of that, we’re struggling to keep up with our household expenses. We’re doing everything we can, but it’s been overwhelming trying to make ends meet. To make things even more stressful, my dad needs another surgery in April, and we’re worried about how we’ll cover those costs as well.
