Hi, everyone. It’s Chelsea. As some of you may know, my sweet mom, Cindy, has had a series of major strokes this year. She has gone from a vibrant, compassionate, hardworking nurse continuing on with her doctorate degree, while always putting her loved ones first - to now being in and out of the hospital, unable to work, pay bills, drive or speak as she once did. She has lost the use of the right side of her body completely, and has substantial damage to her left extremities as well. She needs me. She is single, with no other alternative family members or friends to step in - I am stepping up. However, I am sucking up my pride and asking for your help because I am becoming desperate. I have depleted my savings and maxed my credit cards making visits from California to her in Virginia. I currently work full time with the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools and am continuing my education at CSU, but I do not have the financial means at this point to relocate her here. I can offer my mom a loving, supportive, peaceful environment but I need your help. I’m asking for donations to help cover these costs: 3 plane tickets (one round trip for me, and a one way for my mom from Roanoke to Sacramento), hotel and airport shuttle costs to get her to the airport, medical equipment not supplied by insurance (shower setup with chair, safety bar and detaching shower handle, a wheelchair and chair lift for my vehicle and bed assist equipment), and gas to and from the airport. I know finances are stretched so thin for so many of us right now.
